Stiki assists companies and institutions implementing quality management systems based on ISO 9001:2008

ISO 9000 is a family of standards for quality management systems. ISO 9000 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization and is administered by accreditation and certification bodies.

Quality management systems refer to all the processes carried out in order to meet the quality demands of the clients along with the management organisation of the company. To ensure that the requirements of a client are met, an independent third party conducts audits to ensure that the quality management system is effective and works. When that has been ensured by the inspector, the company gets a “certificate“ and a confirmation document. Not all companies see advantages in certification, but choose nevertheless to arrange their quality management system in accordance with the ISO-standards and work according to it.

The following eight fundamentals have been defined by ISO as necessary for a company to adopt, if they want to meet their quality objectives.

  • Emphasis on the customer
    • Understand the current needs of clients
    • Understand the future needs of clients
    • Fulfilling the needs of clients
    • Exceeding the expectations of clients
  • Leadership
    • Establishing a common understanding of a company‘s purpose and policy
    • Organizing the inner works of a company
  • Involvement of staff
    • Developing abilities and talents to maximum
    • Using those abilities and talents to the maximum benefits of all
  • Thought process
    • Managing resources with process organisation
    • Achieving the targeted results more efficiently
  • Systematically thinking in management
    • Identifying, understanding and managing the processes associated with the system efficiently and effectively in order to achieve the objectives.
  • Constant improvement
    • Improving towards the current goal
  • Decision-making built on facts
    • Analysing data and information logically
  • Communication with suppliers which is beneficial for both parties
    • Increasing value by establishing mutual communication with suppliers which both benefit from

Basic requirements of ISO 9001
In simple terms, the requirements can be set out in this familiar way:
Say what you do
Do what you say
Prove that you did it
Then refine what you did!

There is a lot of synergy between the implementation of ISO 9001 quality management system and information security management system based on ISO/IEC 27001. Many companies implement both systems simultaneously.
